Hancock County Jail Facility

The new Hancock County (Indiana) Jail facility was designed to house a multitude of space programs including 2 levels of cell/dormitories for inmate housing with mezzanines at each level. The building houses vehicle sally port, dietary, training, classrooms, holding, lockers, laundry and additional support areas. The two-story building is approximately 110,000 SQFT. AEC-ME was responsible for design of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology systems. We also assessed existing jail, community corrections, and courthouse to help with master planning for potential options for long term planning with Hancock County.
