Gold Building Conversion (aka City Market)
AEC-ME was part of an A/E team that performed an initial assessment & design of the iconic downtown City Market gold-colored glass office building for Gershman. We worked closely with DKGR and the owner to strategize upgrades for converting the 20-story building and approximately 600,000 SQFT from a commercial office building into retail space and 390 apartments. The project included upgrading an adjacent 5-story parking garage. We worked closely with Pepper Construction on potential phasing and conversion implementation process. The approximate construction cost was $120M.
