Blackhawk Commons Renovation
For the Blackhawk Commons project, AEC-ME surveyed and assessed the existing Sheridan High School known as the “Blackhawks.” The old three story school was renovated and transformed into multifamily apartments. The 74,000 SQFT building included new 32 apartments. The original gymnasium and exterior remained, while the interior underwent extensive demolition and reconfiguration to accommodate the new apartment spaces and public/support spaces. AEC-ME provided engineering design services for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire alarm systems. The total development cost approximately $3.5M.
